Training and Tabletop Exercise

"I Am Safe" Welfare Messages using Winlink, All ham radio operators invited!

Saturday, March 18, 10:30a - 12:30p
West Seattle/White Center Salvation Army cafeteria
9050 16th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98106

Coffee & Snacks will be provided, more info, contact Cindi Barker at CindiLBarker@gmail.com.

We need multiple radio operators to run a final proof-of-concept exercise to pass "I Am Safe" Welfare messages using Winlink. We will be passing message traffic locally and to the east coast. You will be given on-the-job training to test if the processes are quickly executable in times of disaster.

2 options for radio operators:

  • Bring your portable Winlink station with UHF/VHF capability.
Elmers will be available for Winlink assist, but this is not Winlink basic training.

  • Use one of our 3 Winlink stations to pass traffic.

Attendees will learn about the process and can also create messages to be sent, no radio experience is for that. Everyone is welcome!
