Upcoming Important Redistricting Comments Deadline
The Seattle Redistricting Commission has progressed to the second stage of review. Redistricting will change the physical borders of District 4 and possibly who represents us.
Based on the 2020 census, Districts 3, 4 and 7 have grown the fastest. Our system requires equal representation from all districts so these districts need to adjust their physical boundaries.
There are 4 maps, with new district borders that are visible at the following website: https://www.seattle.gov/redistricting/how-to-participate
ECC is supporting Map #1
ECC is supporting Map #1 which keeps Eastlake in District 4 and with boundaries closest to the existing ones. This is in line with the guidelines of following existing district boundaries and preserving the integrity of the neighborhood.
Please go to https://seattle.surveymonkey.com/r/3K8NQ8V to complete the survey and comment. In the comments section all you need to say is that you support Map #1.
If you wish to attend the meeting on Aug 2, where the committee will comment on the options, you can do so by going to the direct Zoom Link https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81011748837
Thank you for making a difference for Eastlake.
