RapidRide J Line: Geotechnical Boring Work


Boring Locations

Geotechnical boring work will take place along Roosevelt Way NE, 11th Ave NE, Eastlake Ave E and Fairview Ave N, beginning as soon as Monday, August 15.

SDOT contractors will use drilling equipment to take soil samples from 12 locations along and adjacent to Roosevelt Way NE, 11th Ave NE, Eastlake Ave E and Fairview Ave N. The soil samples will be tested and used to design foundations to support traffic signal and bus trolley wire poles, and to avoid conflicts with existing utilities.

- Fairview Ave N and Minor Ave N 
- Fairview Ave N and Valley St 

DURATION: Up to 12 full working days starting the week of Monday, August 15. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM.

LIKELY IMPACTS: Dust, noise, and vibration  

WHAT TO EXPECT: A drill rig and traffic modifications. All arterial travel lanes and sidewalks will remain open Monday-Friday, 6-9 AM and 3-7 PM. Flaggers will be on site. Driveway and load zone access will be maintained.
